CASTELLARE’S NEW VINTAGES TOAST TO JAMES SUCKLING’S RATINGS

The American wine critic awards Castellare’s top labels with excellent scores.

The new vintages of Castellare’s top wines obtain excellent scores and ratings by James Suckling, Wine Spectator former senior editor who, according to Forbes is considered today “one of the most influential wine critics in the world”.

Boasting the highest score is I Sodi di S. Niccolò 2016, the flagship wine of Castellare di Castellina based on Sangioveto and Malvasia Nera rewarded with 95 points. James Suckling defined the 2016 vintage “rich and juicy. Very tight style with depth and polish at the end”.

Also excellent was the rating for Coniale 2016, the Cabernet Sauvignon in purity by Castellare which scores 93 points, described by Suckling “aromatic and juicy with ripe tannins and a delicious finish. Really succulent”.

Same score for Poggio ai Merli 2018 which according to the critic is “a pure Merlot with excellent potential”, as well as for Il Poggiale Chianti Classico Riserva 2017 defined with two simple words: “So delicious”.

Finally, Castellare Chianti Classico 2018 gets 91 points. For James Suckling, the new vintage of the most typical Tuscan wine “It’s medium-to full-bodied with round tannins and a fruity finish. Nicely done. Delicious now”.
