300 wine lovers, 60 importers connected from four continents, 240 wine professionals and a top wine critic, Antonio Galloni. These are the figures of the second Global Tasting of the history of wine organized by Domini Castellare di Castellina on 16 April 2020.
On Thursday 16 April, h. 2 pm (italian time), a selected number of international wine experts and wine lovers will take part in a Digital Global Tasting held in 4 continents simultaneously by Antonio Galloni, founder of Vinous as well as one of the most authoritative wine critics in the world, and by Alessandro Cellai, oenologist and General Manager of the Domini Castellare di Castellina group.
It has been a long and demanding harvest that has ended in Castellare di Castellina, in the Chianti Classico, in Rocca di Frassinello, in Maremma Toscana and in the Sicilian estates Feudi del Pisciotto and Gurra di Mare of the Domini Castellare di Castellina group. The cold spring, which delayed the ripening of the grapes, and the extreme intra-annual variability of the climate imposed agronomic choices that Alessandro Cellai, chief winemaker and CEO of the DCC companies, explains in this interview.
The Castellare di Castellina Chianti Classico 2017 ranked 17th in the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2019, the annual list compiled by the famous American wine magazine that honors successful wineries, regions and vintages around the world.
