The 2021 harvest ended in the 4 estates of the Domini Castellare di Castellina group and it is time to take stock. Alessandro Cellai, oenologist and vice president of the DCC group, tells us how was this season.

October 2021

On the occasion of the 40th birthday party of Zlatan Ibrahimović, Castellare di Castellina, historic Chianti Classico winery, and AC Milan football club, celebrated the Swedish champion with a special gift: a bottle of I Sodi di S. Niccolò 1981, historic vintage of Castellare’s Super Tuscan which coincides with the year of the player’s birth. The precious bottle was delivered during the surprise party organized by the Milan management and his teammates.

In Wine Spectator October issue, Bruce Sanderson dedicates an article to his Tuscan tastings, defining the 2017 vintage of I Sodi di S. Niccolò “exceptional”. A great result for this vintage that marks the 40 harvests of Castellare di Castellina’s flagship wine, celebrated with a total-black limited edition.
