COME AND VISIT US AT VINITALY! DOMINI CASTELLARE DI CASTELLINA HALL 7 – BOOTH E3 | FEUDI DEL PISCIOTTO HALL 2 BOOTH 50
It will be a Vinitaly full of previews for the companies of the Domini Castellare di Castellina group. First of all the official presentation of the highly anticipated 2019 vintage of I Sodi di S. Niccolò, the Supertuscan by Castellare di Castellina, a historic Chianti Classico company. After the debut of the 2018 vintage on La Place de Bordeaux, the network of negociants that sells authentic icons of world enology, Castellare will present the 2019 vintage that promises to be particularly intense from an olfactory point of view, with a dense and elegant texture of sweet and silky tannins. “The marked acidity typical of Sangioveto – underlines the oenologist Alessandro Cellai – gives great freshness to this vintage and makes it particularly pleasant and crunchy, with a long finish and great persistence”. Even the 2019 vintage is already being distributed on La Place.
Rocca di Frassinello, the second estate of the group located in the Tuscan Maremma, will instead reveal an absolute preview: the new Rosato – Maremma Toscana DOC 100% Sangiovese which entices with its soft sapid elegance, a light spiciness and a long finish of fresh almonds. An important debut for the company born from a joint venture between Castellare di Castellina and Chateau Lafite, which enriches the range of Rocca di Frassinello wines.
Feudi del Pisciotto, the Sicilian estate located in Val di Noto, will also present a new label: Moro di Testa, a Syrah-based Grand Cru with just a small part of Nero d’Avola launched last autumn and for the first time at Vinitaly with the 2019 vintage. A wine that combines the elegance of an international vine with the power of a variety that expresses the very essence of Sicily. To highlight its Sicilian character, the image of the Moor on the label, taken from a sculpture by the Caltagirone ceramist Giacomo Alessi, which evokes the history of this island, a crossroads of cultures and traditions.
Gurra di Mare, the second Sicilian company located in Porto Palo di Menfi, will also be present with the new vintage of Tirsat, a blend of 50% Chardonnay and Viognier vinified with the French batonnage (long permanence on the lees) to give life to an elegant, fruity and very harmonious white wine.
