FROM PARIS TO MAREMMA, IN THE NAME OF RENZO PIANO
Two important anniversaries, two masterpieces of contemporary architecture signed by Renzo Piano, celebrated with the Limited Edition Rocca Beaubourg, cru of Maremma Toscana in large format.

For this double anniversary, the limited edition Rocca Beaubourg was presented: only 2,000 bottles in large sizes made with the best selections of Rocca di Frassinello. To make the edition unique, two front labels have been made: one with the first sketch of Renzo Piano’s cellar and one with the Pompidou Center. A double “author dress” which makes precious the several formats: Magnum 1,5L, Jéroboam 3L and Mathusalem 6L, which can be booked from October 1 and delivered from November 15, 2017.

During the event, to welcome the guests there was Paolo Panerai, President of Rocca di Frassinello. For this occasion, he asked Italo Rota, the creative and internationally well-known designer, to interpret with his sharp eyes the two projects of Piano: in this way, a photographic exhibition of great visual impact was born, that will be opened in the cellar spaces until December 2017. Enchanted and fascinated by the 24 suggestive images, the guests stayed for a long time to admire the views of Rocca di Frassinello and Centro Pompidou immortalized by unusual and surprising prospects. To particularly appreciate the originality of the exhibition was Marchese Piero Antinori, who found “great personality in the work of Rota”, and Giovanni Geddes da Filicaja, Managing Director of Frescobaldi, both of whom are guests of honour of the evening.

From the contemporary view of the photos, the attention of the guests has passed to that of the archaeological exhibition of the Etruscans and the wine at Rocca di Frassinello. These were arranged by Rota inside the cellar, where the guests were able to appreciate the finds of the Necropolis of St. Germano, inside the estate, revealing how the wine has been produced on these hills for almost 3,000 years.

Renzo Piano, who was 80 years old on September 14, was not physically present at the event because he was busy celebrating this equally important birthday party, but he “virtually” attended in the party through an exciting video contribution. A dense film of stories, images, unpublished memoirs, sometimes even funny and characteristically ironic, illustrating the genesis of the two projects and the story of the long friendship with Paolo Panerai, “he, unknown provincial chronicler, I, unknown provincial architect”, which marked the beginning of a fruitful and deep tuning of which Rocca di Frassinello is the emblem.
